A life that matter still

Between tar and tire
A velvet midKnight
Cast wishes on stars
That shoot far too easy
Wishes for breath
But knees meant for prayer
Now holds breathe hostage
Rage, for now, burns in many hearts
But fire such as this
Does not
last
Ash floats away with the breath
That once shouted his name

George Floyd
Do not fight in vain
Do not forget the boy
That saw his mother coming
To take him home
a Life that matters
Still.
